OUSE ANGLING PRESERVATION SOCIETY

NORTH FROM BARCOMBE MILLS

Above the Mill Pool at Barcombe Mills...

Approximately half a mile of the main river plus Andrew's Cut, weirpool and Andrew's Stream.

Fishing on the west bank from the northern boundary of Barcombe House to the fence of the field north of the mouth of the Bevern Stream.

Fishing on the main river above the main mill pool from the sluice gate as far as the fence just past the footbridge on the southern bank of Andrew's Cut, then the remainder of the south bank of the Cut to Andrew's weir and from the weir downstream on Andrew's Stream as far as Pike's bridge on the right hand (northern) bank.

Fishing is also available again this year in the field on the other side of the footbridge from the northern boundary on the main river near the reservoir, downstream to the confluence with Andrew's Cut then along the Northern bank of the Cut past the top of Andrew's weir.

Fishing will be available once again, for Annual and Winter Permit holders ONLY at Brown's Farm, Barcombe Mills for the 2009-2010 season - click here for details

A car parking sticker for the current season MUST be displayed on parked vehicles at all times. This is especially important at Brown's Farm, please ensure that a sticker is visible when parking here.

The Society has a car park at Barcombe Mills shown on the information pack supplied with your permit and accessible through a combination padlocked gate - combination shown on your permit. A current car parking sticker must be displayed on parked vehicles at all times. Parking is also available, except during the winter, in the public car park near Pike's Bridge.

Please note: Access to the sluice gates just above the main mill pool is required by the Environment Agency at all times. Permit and day ticket holders should NOT park in this area.

Downstream from the Anchor Inn...

Approximately a quarter of a mile of single bank fishing.

Fishing on the east bank ONLY of the first field downstream from the Anchor bridge to its boundary almost opposite the Old Oil Mills, including the Anchor weirpool. This area is also available for coarse fishing on a day ticket available from the usual outlets, including the Anchor Inn.

Please note: Whilst it is tempting to use the sluice gates at the Anchor to cross the river, the Environment Agency has requested that anglers keep off this potentially dangerous site. To access the east bank please use ONLY the farm bridge next to the Anchor Inn to cross the river.

Important information: As of 10 August 2009, car parking is available in the Anchor Inn's overflow car park. This car park is in the field accessible through the gate on the left hand (or north) side of the road immediately before the turning onto the forecourt of the Anchor Inn. This parking does NOT include the car park on the western bank of the river immediately upstream of the sluice gates.

Please ensure that your car parking sticker is displayed at ALL times.

As announced previously, Season Permits and Day Tickets are no available from The Anchor Inn.

The Bevern Stream...

Approximately a mile and a half of small stream fishing.

Fishing west on both banks from the main river north of the Barcombe House northern boundary, upstream to the bridge carrying the farm track, then upstream of the farm track on the south bank as far as the old railway bridge. Fishing is then on the northern bank upstream from the old railway bridge westwards to Clappers Bridge at Barcombe Cross, then on to the western boundary of the first field upstream of Clapper's Bridge.

The Society has a car park at Barcombe Mills, shown on the information pack supplied with your permit and accessible through a combination padlocked gate - combination shown on your permit. Parking is not allowed on the farm track under ANY circumstances.
